- I like it but it is a difficult read. Kind of like reading a biography of a writer's writing process for a book. Don't expect it to read like the Hobbit or Lord of the Rings. While I like the book for its history of the development of Middle-Earth, I find the flow is difficult to find because I can only devote a few moments a day to reading.
- got them as a gift for my grandfather, he loved them because he had always wished tolkien had released more before his death. amazing reads!
- This gave me further knowledge of the tales of middle earth. A great read for any fan of the Hobbit, Fellowship of the Ring, Two Towers, and Return of the King.
